How pricing works

Your reference data

Every price comes from your own tables under Admin → Settings: labor standards ($/hr by station), the metal table (material × gauge pricing and laser parameters), structural shapes, machine standards, and material costs. Update them there and new quotes use the new numbers — sent quotes keep the numbers they were sent with.

Markups

Six markup percentages (labor, material, equipment, subcontract, rentals, freight) live in Admin → Settings → Markup and apply at quote time. They're snapshotted on each sent quote for reproducibility.

Fixed price vs Time & Materials

Each estimate is either fixed-price or T&M (the selector on the pricing page). T&M quotes carry your rates (or "standard shop rates" if you prefer) and an optional not-to-exceed; the customer is billed from actual hours and materials at completion.
